On Kalpataru festival last year:

is Kalpataru Day today. In January 1887, Sri Ramakrishna suffering from cancer, his body in a state of deep emaciation, nonetheless, came out into the garden at Kashipur and blessed all the devotees, who were present there. He said, 'tomader chaitanya hok' or 'May you all have the ultimate Consciousness, or true consciousness'.
This is how the great give. They give of themselves even when they are in great personal pain themselves.
Swami Saradananda and some others who were cleaning Thakur's room at that time, did not come down to receive his blessings. They felt that their duty at that time lay in cleaning the sick room..
Let us look at great gifts and great sacrifices..

What a piece of work is man!!
That is the quote from Hamlet that I misquoted.
Great minds do think alike. The Upanishads say, ' The Self whose symbol is OM, is the omniscient Lord. He is not born. He does not die. This ancient one is unborn, eternal, imperishable' (Katha Upanishad).
Rabindranath says, 'amare tumi ashesh korechho emony lila tobo'.
Rabindranath says, 'amare tumi ashesh korechho emony lila tobo'.
The unknown composer of this famous song says, 'koto lakkhya janam ghure ghure amra peyecchi bhai manab janam..shey janam chole gele aar pabo na....
Then the other famous Baul song (don't know who the composer is):
'dekhechi roop sagore moner manush kancha shona..'
When Einstein tried to explain the nature of the universe to Rabindranath Tagore, the latter told him that the universe can only be understood as Man understands it. There is nothing outside the human mind.
Once while travelling on a boat some persons spoke and behaved rudely to Swami Saradananda, who was Sarat Chandra Chakravarty at that time. He remained unperturbed. He later commented to this effect: Who can harm me with slanders and lies? I have the imperishable Atman inside me.
Thakur I think, said, 'manush janma ki shoja jinish ga?'
And Swamiji said to all human beings, 'Ye nurslings of Immortality!' 'It is a standing libel on human nature to call a man sinful'.
There is a lot to be thought about in these statements above. Some people are so oppressed with the daily challenges of living that they cannot think about these issues. But some of us, who are privileged enough not to have to fight for our daily bread and butter, could spend some time thinking about 'amar praner manush acche praane/tai heri tai sakal khhane'.
